[OKDXA] Banquet Attendance

Folks:

Allow me to report good news on banquet reservations and OKDXA membership renewals.

We have nearly two weeks before the banquet and already 33 seats and BBQ plates have been reserved.  The turnout is easily going to exceed last year's 34 as I've heard from several more they will be sending in the reservation soon.  Any of you that don't have a seat reserved need to hurry along and get your check for $10 per person to me at K5YAA 7477 E. Heather Dr.  Claremore, OK 74017.  BBQ with the trimmins, the noted DXer K5YY as guest speaker and entertainment by the Sweet Adeline group Side by Side.  The OKDXA Ham of the Year Award will be presented and regional "dignitaries" like the West Gulf Division Director and the W5 Land Bureau Manager will be in attendance.  Certain OKDXA members on this side of the state get excited when I use big words like "dignitaries".  Educational for 'em.  Use that dictionary like I've shown you guys.  

The ranks of OKDXA membership continue to grow.  48 of our current 84 members have already renewed or were prepaid for 2003.  Send in your renewal if you haven't already.  My thanks to those of you who turned the reminder mailout around so quickly.

I was pleased to see Ken Adams K5KA rejoin us after a year or so absence.  Ken is an avid contester.  I understand he is getting things in order (or has done so by now) for his retirement - more ham radio for Ken on the horizon I'm sure.
