I have two subjects of immediate interest to the division.

First is the announcement of the Texas QSO Party.

Second is an announcement about the W5 QSL Bureau.

Saddle Up Pardner for the 2002 Texas QSO Party
It's Not Just a Contest,
It's a Year's Worth of Story Material

The Texas QSO Party (TQP) for 2002 is just around the corner. So get
your gear together and
join in on the hard drivin', fast talkin', county huntin', mobile
chasin' best dang QSO party
ever!

The purpose of the TQP is to provide competition for Amateur Radio
Operators to contact as many
Texas stations in as many different Texas counties as possible. And,
there are 254 counties.

We also want to provide county hunters the opportunity to contact rare
Texas counties during
the published contest time and in accordance with the rules of
operation.

Dates and Times

Saturday - September 28  --  9 a.m. to 9 p.m. (UTC 1400Z to 0200Z)
Sunday   - September 29  --  9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (UTC 1400Z to 2000Z)

Floyd, N5FG, is stepping down as the W5 QSL bureau manager
the 1st of November.  We are now searching for someone to
step in and take the bureau.  If you are interested send me
