Hi all,

It was so noisey last week end, I forgot half of what needed to be said.
I'll try to fill in the blanks.

As Field Checkers, it is our job to compare the infromation on your
application to the information on the QSL's. No more, no less. We simply
check the cards, and forward the application to Hq. We don't award you
credit. Only the DXCC Desk can do that. It is of utmost improtance that you
copy the information accurately. I recommend that you use a pencil, and not
ink. We all make mistakes, and pencil is much easier to correct. We will do
our best to help you, but it is your application, not ours. Use the current
application form. There is a new version, just out, on the ARRL Web Page.
When you think it is all correct, go back over it a couple of times. I went
over my last submission four times, and found errors each time.

It is the responsibility of the applicant to bring an addressed, stamped #
10 envelope. It should be addressed to: DXCC Desk, ARRL Hq., 225 Main St.,
Newington, Ct. The address is on the bottom of your application. If you have
any questions, please contact the Field Checker before you show up with the
cards. We are volunteers, and our time is valuable to us, just as yours is
to you.

The Field Checkers are all listed on the ARRL Web Page, with e-mail
addresses and phone numbers. I am self employed, in a one man Dental Lab. My
living depends on me being at the work bench, not on the computer. I prefer
phone calls. I have a cordless phone, with a headset, and can talk and work
at the same time. If you need to contact me, call 405-275-9087 during normal
business hours. It is a free call for those in the OKC wide calling area.
The other guys probably prefer e-mail, so check with Ross and Dave on that.

I'm sure there are still things I forgot, but need to get busy. When you
think you are ready for card checking, contact one of us.
