Jim,

Clif, N5UW had some excellent words in his talk at the Choctaw swapfest this
morning. It was titled something like: "Learn to listen and listen to
learn". Maybe Clif will put a few of those great words on the reflector.

My methods have always been simple. 1. Work every new country that comes
along. 2. Live a long time. 3. Put more money into antennas than you do
the rig. 4. Learn the dx stations operating habits and cater to those. 5.
Be a gentleman. 6. If you can't be a gentleman, turn the rig off and go do
something else. (That was one of Clif's suggestions this morning also) 7.
If it isn't fun or stops being fun, find another hobby/service.

There are many more specific hints but these might get some others chiming
in. ;-)

Subject: [OKDXA] DX info

I would like to start a thread to help new comers as well as share
information.
Their are members of the OKDXA who have confirmed well over 200 countries,
and with this experience comes knowledge.
Sadly when we loose a member of the amateur community we also loose a wealth
of knowledge.
If any one would like to share what they feel has been key to their success
as a DXer or a tidbit about chasseing DX I feel this would be a good thing
for the amateur community as a whole.
