Hi OKDXA,
I am looking at the M2 mono-banders ( the 4 element mainly ) and also the
HyGain ( 5 element here ) products. I am wondering if anyone here on the
list has any experiences with either antenna? Has anyone tried the HyGains
out since MFJ is now making them? Are they as good as when they were made
up in Lincoln?
I am not interested in Force 12 right now, I have a C19XR that is doing a
great job. But I need to go back to an antenna that offers DC grounding for
my 160m shut fed tower. The Force 12 doesn't provide the top loading I need
since I replaced with the Tennadyne Log. You can ground the elements direct
according to Tom, but I don't like the idea of weaking the element to boom
mounting. Anyone that has a Force 12 product will understand what I am
talking about here. For those that have not used the Force they have split
sections of PVC material around the elements in the center to protect from
the U bolts and to insulate the elements from the boom. The idea is to have
less interaction when stacking, in which this method does and works very
well.
If anyone is interested in the C19XR let me know. It is less than a year
old and I can save you a few bucks. Fort Smith is also not far from
Oklahoma, hihi.
I know this maybe off topic from DX, but there is a ton of experience here
on this list. I am subscribed to other DX lists and not much of anything
ever goes on the other lists. I really like the OKDXA and the guys that
make it happen!!
Thank you all and 73 de jay/w5jay..
