Dave,

Sounds like an excellent plan. I'll kick in $20 if needed.

Coy, looks like your idea has led to an excellent
solution to this antenna deal. Here is the message
from Bernie about what he can do.
Capt. Dave , how does this sound???? That clamp can
probably be sent by U.S. Air mail Postal.

Hi Bill

I can get a Hustler 4-BTV
http://www.new-tronics.com/main/html/base_hf_4_band.html
 locally for
$80.
It is a secondhand unit but in mint condition.

To simplify things regarding international money
transfers etc. I have
a
suggestion for you to consider. I am not sure what
your budget was for
the
14 AVQ but here is what I can do.

I will pay the $80 (~ R 850).
I need 1 of those KLM type boom to element
clamps/brackets that DX
Engineering is selling.
http://www.dxengineering.com/product.asp?PL=22

The cost of 1 of those brackets with the hardware kit
is $45. If you
add
the postage it will probably get close to $80.

Let me know if it is a workable idea.

Thanks

Bernie, ZS4TX
