Jerry, this is just my thought on the antenna , but I
would not consider cutting the larger diameter
sections. The 7/16 top section not a big deal. 

The Post Office absolute max is 42 inches so we are
out of luck there pretty much anyway.

By the way , I'll take this shot to thank you on the
antenna deal. That's a right nice thing you are doing.
To get ST0 on the air in better shape I think is a
very worthwhile project. Also that the antenna will be
left with the ST0 radio club when William leaves in
about a year is great.
