I have to apologize to all concerned regarding the April newsletter, as
there was no April newsletter...

With our CORA affiliation hanging in limbo and a busy month of March (Green
Country and the QSO Party) I didn't get a round tuit. Truth be told, it
takes 10 hours or better to slap one together and with publication uncertain
I didn't have the usual motivation. Sure, Bob would have had it up on the
web site in a heartbeat and he's been very reliable, but when the C&E was
rolling we were assured of 650-ish copies delivered to mailboxes all across
the state whether anyone remembered the URL or not. As for the May
newsletter... Same song, second verse.

As it stands now, the C&E is at:

and you'll note there are no C&E's. Guess I'm not alone in my sloth. Surf
around the site and you won't see the CORA meeting minutes from April,
either, so I suspect things move a little slow over there. As for the new
policy of limiting "extraneous material", I can guarantee you I've included
plenty of announcements in the past that held no personal interest to me but
were included because they might interest you, and I believe the newsletter
should be for you.

Anyway... Myself and a few of the club officers are in the process of
mulling over an alternative to the C&E as I've heard N5UW is going through
attention-withdrawl and KD5DLL hasn't been insulted outside of the Tulsa
metro area since March (!). These are serious issues which need to be
addressed. I don't see the OKDXA thriving without some mailbox promotion, be
it direct or piggy-backing with an existing publication. Call me a
conventional thinker, but the best Ham organization imaginable won't prosper
unless a good number of Hams know about it and the old C&E definitely got
around...
