Hello All,

Got back late last night from VP5 land. Wow! 826 contacts from a very
relaxed, part time effort. No wonder contesters like that location so much.
Got many 20/30 over reports using 100 watts. Amazing! One statesider said my
signal was "obscene"! I've never heard that for a signal report before, but
I like it! Another Chicago station insisted on knowing how many "megawatts"
I was running. I don't think he believed my barefoot report. Florida had
their QSO party last weekend (I heard you Jerry). Since several of them
worked me on our event, I thought I would return the favor. Half the time I
couldn't even sneak in a quick 5/9 DX report without starting a pile-up on
the other guys frequency! Had 33 cards waiting on me when I got home. Looks
like it will be writers cramp for awhile. Guess I had better get busy &
print up some more of Bob's OKDXA QSL inserts. Louise had a great time also,
but didn't care much for the puddle jumper plane ride from Provo to North
Caicos. A little too much "openness" & noise, I believe. Wouldn't even let
me sit in the co-pilot seat on the way back. I guess she knows me too well.
Tnx to all who took time to work me. It was a real blast. Yes, I did work
AC5UP on the "wonder wire" Also worked Jim/N5PMP on five bands.

In other breaking news, today was the deadline for the OK QSO party logs.
Looks like we ended up with 35 total. 27 electronic & 8 paper. We got a
PA3,DL6,LA8,ON6,LY3,VA3 & VA7. All paper logs were mainlanders. Will get
with the contest committee in a few days for final review & announcements.

We have 2 tables reserved for Ham Holiday (Thanks,Mark) We also have our
meeting time spoken for, they will let me know by next week on the time. I
have asked for 1 & 1/2 hours if possible, as we have a lot of ground to
cover.

Officers & directors, I have some other business to discuss with you. Will
send you a note.
