I've heard of non-voice modes... Do they really exist?

The phone freq's to monitor are:

50.110 - DX SSB calling
50.125 - Domestic SSB calling
50.200 - Domestic SSB calling (alternate)
50.400 - AM calling
50.590 - An infamous FM Simplex Net on Wednesdays @ 9pm
52.525 - FM Simplex calling
