Hi Folks,
Coy summed it up perfectly. It was terriffic. All you could expect:
The flea market was a challenge to look at all of the goodies.
Just too many. Fell in love with a new offering from Bencher called
the "Mercury Key" It's named after the Mercury the Messenger.
It's chromed, weighs a ton, feels great and I was able to send
error free dits & dahs immediately. Full iambic and I find it amazing
how I'm able to zero in on the bargains at first glance. It's a mere
$499.95 . . . Maybe I should buy a spare.
The forums were super. K5VT didn't make it as he had to work. Seems
his backup had to back out of filling in for him at the last moment. Durn !
If you visited the websites I put out in an Email to the reflector a month
ago, you know what you missed. It was all there plus.....
Now if Coy would just send the jpg of me with Tom Christian....hint hint
Send the one of you & Tom too Coy. Noteworthy tip, Toms' daughter
came with him. Yee Haw....slim, black hair, polynesian complection,
a pleasure to talk to, & sweet as can be.
The guys in the LSDXA went all out to make it memorable. They
succeded. We heard momentos from KK5EK on XY0Y, antenna &
propagation theory and applications from ON4UN, words of wisdom
from N7NG & W5JBP about DXing & league news. K4UEE spoke on
his DXpeditions.
The "Hospitality Suite" was at the Wingate Hotel. We had the whole
first floor. There was a lot to be learned there and the keynote and
forum speakers were very approachable and pleasant. Wayne held
up very well. I remember seeing Bill Kennamer holding his head in both
hands on the steps at the Crowne Plaza after a couple days of such.
Since next year will be the National ARRL Convention, make your plans
and reservations NOW. You won't regret it for an instant.
