Great Circle mapping, beam heading, distance, location, DX Spots out the
wazoo, even if you're just killing a little time listening it's amazing how
much more DX you'll be hearing... 14.243 MHz is the frequency for KC4AAA at
the south pole and he's usually active around 8pm or so local time. Last
night I was listening to them run traffic into McMurdo on the coast of
Antarctica and the DX Spots came up within minutes. Get handy with DX
Monitor and you'll never go back to random knob-twisting.
(I'm also mighty impressed with some of the spots I've seen on the low
bands)
