Ross,
The ARRL remailer is not free. It requires membership. The only reminder
you will get old friend is to pay your dues. ;-)

re: QSL.net requests for donations. ditto the ARRL reflector mail list.
Folks,
This comes as no surprise to me. I concede Al is doing a great service to
many
and has emptied his wallet at times to keep it going. However, his service
was
advertised as "Totally Free" for years and that is why he has 50,000 users
and
so much expense. You can contribute and the requests keep on coming anyway.
Requests for donations are a thorn in the side to me and have always been
such. There's more to it than just my being a cheapskate. (Most hams ARE
you
know.) Now I do appreciate what he does for the multitudes but if I see one
more
plug for donations, I'm going to unlist myself from the ARRL and OKDXA
reflectors.
I get way more unsolicited Email than desired already. Now he has my Email
address. (and yours and 50,000 others) Neither the OKDXA or the ARRL mail
list was my idea. The subscription to the ARRL list was even done without
my
consent or opinion. K5TTT just subscribed us without asking and said it's
free
and if you didn't want to be there, unsubscribe yourself. We
can/could/should
accomplish the same thing by simply making a mail list to submit to our
Email client software and the same multiple mailing would happen with no
involvement with "nonprofit entities". I'd be willing to pay something just
to stop the
plugs for bucks but they won't stop and it seems the world is taking lessons
from
Al.
My $0.02 worth. What do YOU think ??
73, Ross K5RH
