Very well said.
I agree with you and feel the same way.
My most favorite recollection is staying up to 3 in the morning.
Pam was nice enough to stay up with me and she was doing ironing.
I was on a list.
When They called me I was sound asleep. Pam frantically tried to wake me up
but it was too late and they had moved on. I hung around until the end of
the list and thankfully
they called me one last time and I made the contact.
Please don't tell anyone that K9KK used a list operation. Hi Hi

Trying to work Ed (P5) has reminded me of working DX some 20 years ago when
we did not have the internet and did not have the mega-DXpeditions. There
are no exact times of operation, no exact frequencies, no multiple stations
on 24 hours a day, no operation when the props are best from here, etc. You
spend hours, days, weeks searching for the station then spend hours calling
with no contact. Then, you do it all again and again until finally you make
that one contact. That moment will be remembered and cherished forever. It
is cause for true celebration. I have several contacts of this type that I
remember vividly although I cannot remember any details of the
Mega-DXpeditions I have worked recently. I don't even know what bands I
worked then on because I worked them with such little effort. It has taken
Ed's operation to remind me of the true rewards of working DX.
