Check a few videos on how DMR is organized and programming logic and how to get started. Otherwise none of the programming will make sense.
First get your DMR registration number so you are recognized by the system.
Install a few of the local analog FM repeaters so you can get the radio working if it is not already programmed.
Try and download and install some code plugs for the Houston area and see if you can get one to connect. Once you hit one, you can access several of the nodes from there. If you have a hotspot, you only need one channel to connect.
Also program the analog repeater channels.

Subject: [OFARC] January 24th meeting
Everyone,
What's up for the January meeting? I'd love some help with DMR. It's a bit daunting trying to figure this stuff out. I have a couple of Baofeng DM-UV32s. If I bring them and my laptop, could anyone there help with the programming? Maybe get connected to a repeater and join a room? I'm just putting it out there as something to do/try.
Byron
