All, here is the updated activity calendar through end of 2025 for the Oak Forest Amateur Radio Club.

The weekend of June 28-29 marks the annual ARRL Field Day operating event that our long time partner the American Radio Relay League puts on. This is a great event to activate local Amateur Radio Resources as we begin the 2025 Hurricane Season. This coincides with our Saturday meeting at the Red Cross where we will have our regular meeting and testing.  The official starting time is 1:00 PM central.

We will be operating from the Red Cross com room combining scores with the Houston ECHO Society as we did last year.  There are 3 stations operating, 10, 20 & 40 meters. All modes are operating on Icom 7300s.  Bring headphones and a splitter if you have one for, otherwise its pretty noisy in the shack.  You can bring your own radio if you like. Saturday is the main day of operations.  Sunday operations will depend on the interest.

One of the focuses of Field Day is on learning to operate in adverse communication environments and developing skills to meet those challenges much like what can be experienced during hurricanes and emergency events.

The specifics on Field Day are available on the ARRL Field Day Information Page.

More information will be supplied the week before the event.
