PRACTICAL HAM RADIO

At 12:00 NOON Saturday, May 6, 2023, there will be a practical demonstration/presentation on HAM radio presented by Eastside Amateur Radio Service (EARS) Team here at Electronic Parts Outlet.

In this presentation, the "EARS" team will be setting up a 2 part station.
1) An HF radio for making long distance contacts
2) A UHF.VHF station to work local stations/repeaters, such as BVARC (Brasos Valley Amateur Radio Club)

This would allow folks to see how a station is setup in a portable fashion.   Allow them to participate as they see fit and hopefully get them interested in the hobby or expand their existing knowledge in the hobby.

This is also a great opportunity for experienced HAMS to socialize and invite potential new members into the fold.

This workshop is available for everyone, from the elementary school student to the post-graduate hobbyist.  There is no charge to attend.  Your RSVP is always appreciated as it helps us to know if we need to schedule a second class to prevent over crowding.   We may repeat the session later in the day if we get a lot of RSVPs.   It would help us to have your RSVP by Thursday evening (May 4th).  We hope to see you here!
