I suggest you use the animation tool so you know what to expect.
At San Antonio it will be 97% eclipse and will show the “ring” of sunlight around the dark moon.
Houston will be 89%
(I hope to be at my place NW of San Antonio)
The whole eclipse takes about 2 hours and 40 minutes from the first touch of the moon’s shadow to the end.
Maximum eclipse is in the middle of that time.
You MUST have safe viewing filters. There are foil glasses available that work fine
A #14 welding filter is also good
(a #12 is safe, but I like the darker image of a #14)
