Dom,
Totally understand.  We're still good to go for this weekend's WFD 2023; however, if conditions deteriorate a notice will be sent to this reflector.

I am looking at the WX. Now thunder/lighting is now in the mix. Light sprinkles are doable.  But possible electric storms, err, no.  This could change, but if the forecast holds up, I will be staying home

That is not to say I would be game for a POTA later in the year.

Subject: [OFARC] Winter Field Day 2023
Date: Tue, 24 Jan 2023 08:38:07 -0600

All,
Good morning. Hope all is well w/you.  This is a friendly reminder that Winter Field Day 2023 is this Saturday and Sunday.  The WFD 2023 rules are attached though that may be overkill.  So, I’ll summarize the highpoint here and you can ask me if any additional doubts.

1. Where: Winter Field Day 2023 for OFARC will take place at Stephen F Austin state park at Shelter #12.
        a. You’ll be charged about $4 to enter the park or it’ll be free if you have the Texas State Park Pass.
        b. We’ll have food & drinks (non-alcoholic due to park rules) but feel free to bring some munchies if you drop by.

2. When: WFD starts this Saturday Jan 28th at 1300 CST (1900 UTC) and goes on until Sunday Jan 29th at 1300 UST (1900 UTC).
        a. We’ll be setting up antennas/radios/gear Ëœ10am Saturday morning.
        b. We’ll be operating until noon on Sunday since that’s check out time.  So yeah, we’ll be missing the last hour but we’ll likely be ready to go home by then.

3. What: bring your radio/antenna/battery & rig it up next to ours or just bring yourself & you can operate w/our gear while we take a break.

4. How: I got a response from Marvin Turner W0MET President WFDA this morning about Dom's question on operating in his vehicle:  Dom’s OK operating in his vehicle and our club WILL maintain our “O† category.  Woohoo.

5. Dress warmly & bring rain gear when you come out to visit us to prep for weird weather.

Most important, the mantra is to "have fun" so we’ll make it a great radio outdoor experience!
