OFARC is Hosting its Annual Amateur Radio Field Day Event:  June 25-26  2022  

All are welcome.   You do not need a license to operate.

 

WHERE:  Brazos Bend State Park - 21901 FM 762  Needville TX 77461.   This is about 40 miles southwest of Houston.

OPERATING AREAS  Screened shelters #7 and #9  This is in the central part of the park. 

 

COST:   Park entry fee is $7 per person per day.  You pay at the main gate on the way in. 

 

TIME:    10 a.m. Saturday June 25 setup.  The official start is 1:00 central time.  Operations: 24  hours.   Out by noon Sunday  

 

THE PLAN:  Make contacts.  Enjoy good company and food.   Test antennas, radios, alternate power and emergency preparedness

Demonstrate to the public. 

 

OPERATING:  There will be several radios to operate.  The shelters have power but are not air conditioned.

If you want to bring your own radio, you should have everything you need to operate: coax, antenna, extension cord, power strip, flash light, batteries, solar cells, etc.  Pen and paper, also for logging helpful.  Small tools appropriate for the task.

If you plan to run digital, be sure you have the requisite computer and interface cables.

Folding chair and items as appropriate for the venue.

 

PREPARATION:  Its going to be hot.  It could rain.  There probably will be bugs.  Be prepared.    Don’t feed the alligators.
