Hi Ralph,
I hope this finds you healthy and not too crazy from the annual Holiday Madness.
I'll be brief (for once!). If you want to be reasonably sure of delivery by Christmas, NOW is the time to place your order. It appears that so far, at least, the major package delivery services have not had a repeat of last year's "meltdown". The elves and I will do our best to get everything shipped as soon as we possibly can, but please don't delay.
If you've been reading my Newsletter for a while, you know that my favorite local charity is our Homeless Shelter. I've never been homeless, and have never really had to worry about how I would be able to feed, clothe, and shelter my family. But volunteering at the shelter over many years has opened my eyes to how many hard working pe ople simply have no place to sleep tonight. Particularly at this time of year, the shelter can become almost overwhelmed with donations of food, warm jackets, and similar items. It seems strange, but one item that's almost never donated (and thus is most appreciated) is socks. Yup, plain old socks. So for every order on my Web Site from now until New Year's Day, I will donate one pair of socks to the shelter. Are you willing to participate and help? Yes? Great! I've added a pair of socks as an item on every page of the Web Site. If you "purchase" a pair of socks for just 99¢, I will add that to the total number I donate. Just to be clear, you don't get the socks -- I will give them to the local Homeless Shelter along with my own donation. I will not keep track of who contributes, nor will I send you any further e-mails asking for ever-more-generous donations. In fact, other than a general thank-you in this newsletter, you'll never hear about it again. But you'll know that you made a small difference in someone's life for less than the cost of your morning coffee. Please note that regardless of how many socks are "sold" on the Web Site, I will personally donate one pair of socks for each order placed during the Holiday Season. Last year, with your generosity we were able to donate over 800 pairs of socks, along with hats and gloves that the shelter requested. Believe me, they were very grateful. Supply chain issues continue. Coax cable in particular has been difficult to keep in stock, and when I do get it the price seems higher with each shipment. Despite that, I will not compromise by offering lower quality Chinese coax. As much as I dislike making folks wait for an order, I remain committed to selling only quality products that are worth your investment. As always, I appreciate your business and your patience.
As a more economical alternative, we now make coax jumpers with our USA-58 American made RG-58 cable. At HF frequencies, there's very little performance difference between that and our USA-8X. It costs less, and (for now at least) our inventory is good. See it here.
As we head into the Holiday Season, shopping early will be a key to avoiding disappointments. All of the major package delivery services were just overwhelmed last year, and to be honest I don't know how much things will improve this year -- if at all. Adding product availability issues makes an even stronger argument for whispering in Santa's ear earlier than later this year. As always, we'll make every effort to ship your orders out as fast as we can, but once they leave here things are beyond our control.
You probably know that we build all of our coax jumpers right here in-house. That allows us better quality control and lets us ensure that our cables are all made with premium grade coax and connectors. We now offer our best selling American Made USA-Flex jumpers in a wide variety of lengths from 3 feet to 200 feet long. Look here for cables with Silver/Teflon PL-259s installed. If you need other connectors, we can handle that too. Click here for our custom built cables with any combination of PL-259, Type N, BNC, SMA, TNC, and Mini-UHF connectors. For a quick overview of all of the cable we offer, go here.
Our Ultimate Crimp Kits have just been flying out the door lately, along with our premium grade connectors and 100% USA-made coax cable. For less than $130, the Ultimate kit is a great deal. One of my larger competitors sells their own set of tools. To match the functionality of our kit, you'd have to spend over $450 with them. YIKES!!
Our kit will crimp just about every connector you're ever likely to need, on just about any coax you'd ever use. It also includes a set of coax strippers. And it includes our famous Andy-Crimp Pro™ die set for installing Anderson Powerpoles. Here's a great video demonstrating just how easy it is to install the connectors.
My #1 rule is that if I wouldn't use a product myself, I will not offer it for sale. I stand behind my products because I'm confident that they are well worth your investment. As always, I appreciate your interest and your business.
And yes -- FREE SHIPPING!
We offer free shipping on all US orders (Web Site orders only) over $73.00. That includes ALL of our products, no exceptions. And yes, that includes Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico as well. It's our way of saying thanks to our many great customers.
That's it for this one, gang. Stay safe and well, and have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Get on the air and have fun with Ham Radio! 73, John Bee N1GNV www.qsradio.com
