I do no= t have a spare TNC or ICOM 706 MKIIG or computer (I cant find my USB to Ser= ial converter cable). I have checked the data cable between the TNC and th= e radio and all wires are still soldered and connections checked for contin= uity. I tried removing then reinstalling the Winlink software however the = removal process leaves some software residue because when I reloaded the Wi= nlink software all of the setup parameters were still in place. =20 It all appears to be a receiving problem. Apparently I am not receiving an= y data for the software to process. I can hear each of gateways responding= to my radio signal however nothing appears on the screen. The TNC does sh= ow a receive LED so I am guessing that it is seeing some receive data from = the radio. I don=E2=80=99t know where the break is: radio, TNC or software= failure. I would imagine that I need an oscilloscope to try and trace the= signals from the radio back to the computer. =20 The computer I have apparently does not have a Hyper Terminal program in it= so I am unable to communicate directly with the TNC.
