Hello everyone,
We know how Ham operators love a twofer so we are excited to invite you all to a special POTA event where we will also be celebrating Natalie’s 2nd birthday. We will have everything our normal Houston POTA events have plus a little extra to celebrate this special birthday. So, like always this is a family friendly event that you and your family are invited to on May 16, 2026. We look foward to seeing you all there.
HOUSTON POTA EVENT
Saturday May 16th 10am - 4pm
(Birthday party starting at 1pm)

A few important things to know.
* Park access is $5.00 per person. More info on: https://tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/galveston-island<https://us.list-manage.com/RISj5zh4iAg?e=2d0f3ae900&c2id=e053bdb52822eb6b99fb9db75be1b9a0>
* We will provide at least 3 HF radios so the only thing you need to bring is yourself, something to drink, and snack on. There is no park store so you may want to bring bug spray and or sun screen.
* You are welcomed to ask questions or to share your knowledge with others.
* You can use your own call sign if you decide to get on the radio or the club call KE5HP.
* Technician class licensees ARE WELCOME! You can operate within your designated band, however if you want access to all HF bands please see Anthony (W5LIC) or Kori (WX5KR) to use the club call sign.
* Of course, you do not have to operate the radios, you can come out for a fun time with your fellow hams.
* Reach out to us on 146.520MHz FM simplex while in the vicinity of the park.
* This is a family friendly event.
