Good evening,

I know that everyone, and most clubs are already in full swing in
getting ready for the upcoming Field Day. There are just a few things I
would ask of each member.

First and foremost, please be safe while setting up for Field Day, it is
expected to be another hot year. And secondly, if you are operating
outside, please stay hydrated.
If it gets too hot for your members, or for yourself if you are a single
operator please do not stay out in the heat just for a few points.

I would rather everyone be safe and healthy then risk any short term, or
long term health issues.

Now on to some basics for those that have never participated in Field
Day.
Don't forget to list yourself or your club on the ARRL Field Day Locator
website (FREE!)
And also do not forget to get free points by sending a message to the
Section Manager using Winlink, or any other method. As long as you get a
message to me, I will respond to it. It will not be the same day, as I
will be traveling to different Field Day locations.

If you would like the West Gulf Division Director, John Stratton, or the
Vice Director, Lee Cooper to visit your Field Day location, they have to
be invited to attend.

John Stratton - N5AUS at N5AUS.COM
Lee Cooper - W5LHC01 at GMAIL.COM

I as the ARRL STX Section Manager will make every attempt this year, as
I have in the past to visit as many Field Day locations as I can in the
twenty-four hour operating period.

If you invite me, the Section Manager, to your Field Day I will make
every attempt to put you on the list to visit. As I did last year, I
will be driving through the night to visit as many locations as I can.
So if you or your club was listed on the Field Day Locator site, and
decided to close down early, or just stop operations, I ask if you can
let other clubs or operators know so they can pass along that
information to myself while I am traveling around to prevent going to a
location that is longer operating.

As always, I wish everyone good luck during Field Day!!

Thank you,
Stuart Wolfe - KF5NIX
