[OFARC] WFD 2023 Pics

Colleagues,
Good evening.  Winter Field Day (WFD) 2023 is behind us now and we made 69 contacts in SSB (66), CW (2), and JS8Call (1).  Also, we sent two emails using Winlink from a “Bioenno battery”-powered IC 7300 and a laptop running on internal battery. 

We setup late Saturday morning and were up & running by 1300 CST with 3 stations outdoors, or the “3 Oscar” category.  Our stations only used battery power & the batteries were replenished with our vehicles since the sky was overcast and not conducive to solar panels.  We had the panels & charge controllers but made the call not to use them.  We rigged down at around 10:30 Sunday morning since rains were intensifying.

Most importantly, everyone reported having a good time at the event!  Excellent news for our club, emergency preparedness, and for the hobby in general in my opinion.
