There will always be conflicts. We keep our regular time. Those that are
active in ARES are free to participate and pass on the OFARC net. Note that
this training message is out of Montgomery county and 147.02 repeater is in
Conroe. Most members south of 610 probably can't hit that repeater anyway.
VARA and winlink excepted.
One of the problems with the ARES notices is that they don't provide enough
information or links for non-ares members to figure out whether its worth
the trouble to participate. This message forward is a good example.

We would like to remind everyone of Tuesday nights, August 29, radio net
exercise for our ARES group. (>>>what group?
This Emergency Exercise will be on 147.02/136.5(tone), starting at 2000
(8:00pm). (>>>Emergency exercise for what?
We encourage all to please participate so that you are practiced in the net,
and we are also training and giving experience to new Net Control Operators.
Those able to do so, we encourage all to participate with the Winlink check
in by sending your Winlink msg to "MCARES-EC" prior to 8:00pm. Also, those
who are capable of sending VARA and Winlink Packets, please do so.
Everyone please check in by radio as both methods ensures testing of your
systems and those of the ARES group.
