[OFARC] OFARC Meetings OK for Transtar for March 2022

Ok folks, we can get back in Transtar for our meetings subject to the following restrictions which I think we can handle.  I’m going to post a test session for this month also and we will wing it for the rest.  I’ll send out a notice again as an email blast to others.   The thread is attached for your reading pleasure. Mark,

I have checked with TranStar and for at least the near future we will do the following:

 

1.       Oar Forest can begin meeting at TranStar, in the front part of the conference room, as of March 26th.

2.       The number of attendees will be restricted to no more than 30 people.

3.       As the Law Enforcement group is still using the back  half of the conference room, and the only separation between the two sections is a fabric wall, you will need to keep the noise down as much as possible.  The Law Enforcement groups operates in that temporary space 24 hours a day and loud noises will distract them from their assigned duties.

4.       All of your members will still need to enter through the main entrance to have their temperature checked.  However, masks will not be required after the temperature check.  Members are NOT ALLOWED to enter the building without having their temperature being checked.

5.       We will use your below schedule as the meeting dates for your club.  Please remember that either Alan or I must be in attendance for your meeting to take place.  We will do everything in our power to adjust our schedule so that one of us is in attendance, but in an emergency should Alan or I not be available, the club will not be able to meet.  Please be assured that you will have plenty of notice should one of us not be able to provide you access to the building for your meeting.

Ok we do not need the full conference center.  If only room A is open, this would be fine.  We have our own AV equipment so do not need the screens.

Guys, two things!

 

1.       Can I please give you a new email address.  This email address (bngillis at swbell.net) is so old it is giving me problems.  Effective immediately can you please use my new email address bengillis4875 at att.net.  Thanks!

 

2.       This morning I personally reviewed the status of the construction for the new law enforcement facility on the floor of the transportation side of TranStar.  Now I have a better understanding of what is going on with the construction, and what I saw is not encouraging.  Based on the problems they seem to be having with the buildout they will not be finished with the construction work until after the first of May.  In order to correct a couple of construction issues it appears (today) that the contractor will have to demo some of their work and rebuild those areas.  There was a meeting scheduled for this morning that will/we hope clarify the work the contractor will have to redo.  

 

Mark, as to the club using the full conference area (120 A & B) I would not plan on the currently closed area being available for your use until the end of May.  I will keep tabs on the project and if we are lucky and contract pushes completion of the project and finishes earlier I will let you know
