Good morning.  I ran into the following 1949 training video which covers a radio receiver & methodically explains its constituent parts: antenna, SuperHet, diodes.  I found it interesting and thought that you might too..

BTW this is partially restored from a 1949 16mm film, originally produced by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and distributed by the National Film Board of Canada.
