Jeremy,
Good catch. American Legion park in Oak Forest. Same place where we ran the Field Day stations earlier in the year.

Colleagues,
Good evening. It's been suggested to meet up at a local park and setup our remote operating equipment in preparation for a future Parks On The Air team activation. In other words, let's check out our equipment at a nearby park before we drive 1 hour to a POTA park to activate it! Anyone interested in meeting this Saturday morning at American Legion park ( https://goo.gl/maps/wLsHKDoRmgCwCwZn8 )? It was a quiet park with plenty of parking, picnic tables, and shade so it should fit the bill.
You could bring your rig, coax, & antenna, I'll do the same, and we can stage the station for an actual POTA activation. Now, again, American Legion park is not in the list of POTA parks so it would not get activation credits but we could do a dry run there.
Let me know if we have a critical mass of interest & we'll make this happen!
73!
