[OFARC] Winter Field Day this weekend was a lot of fun

I tried.  Lots of Hotel Ones.  Bands were in and out.  But thete should be a push for 10 and 6 m for the techs.  And the power limitation on 10.  Let them get a feel for HF.  Ok 6 does act HFish at times. (Refering to the od Novice subband.)


There are events for 10 and 6.  But carving out a place for the two FD maybe a way to get their feet wet.  And 11m ateannae can be modified.

I listened to 2m simplex and SSB.  Nothing there.

At least an event one does not have to worry abouit heat stroke.

I did enjoy the time I was on the air.  Mainly logged 1H stations.....just like me.
I managed about an hour at a time and then needed a nap.  It was surprising how tiring it was.

Colleagues,

Good evening.  Winter Field Day (WFD) ran for 24 hours and concluded
earlier today.  It was a lot of fun.  I made contacts from many US
states and a couple of Canadian provinces from my outdoor/remote
station.  It rained yesterday and this morning was a bit chilly but that
added to the "Field Day" experience.  I noticed that there were a lot of
"1H" stations which are single operator at home stations, possibly due
to COVID.  If anyone else participated, I hope you also had fun!
