[OFARC] Conroe Amateur Radio club article and pics of Emergency Power Pack project

Colleagues,

Good evening.  This is the link for the Conroe Amateur Radio club 
article that Donald (KG5PFN) mentioned in tonight's 2m Net.  I couldn't 
find it in the houstonchronicle.com site but it's apparently in the

BTW, this is the 12 V DC emergency/ultra-portable power pack that I 
built today.  I mentioned on the air to Ralph (KE5HDF) and Hal (KG5OIR) 
that I'd post a picture of it on the reflector.  It's meant to be used 
for emergencies and since it uses AA batteries, you could buy them in 
any small town in a pinch and you could power your rig without relying 
on a car battery.  I bought the 8 AA battery holder at ACE Electronics 
here in Houston.  That place is like a candy store!
