Storm season is  here again....not just hurricane but also some of those 
big thunderstorms we get can be hazardous.

Hurricane watch net is activated by the whenever a storm approaches 
landfall.

for the USA the frequencies are 14.325 and 7.268

For local severe weather ......
SKYWARN is a US national program in partnership with the National 
Weather Service

Anyone can be a storm spotter and make reports by phone, email, 
internet, or HAM RADIO.

Training is required so you learn what and how to report during severe 
weather.

Amateur radio uses specified repeater frequencies to report severe 
weather in each metro or county area across he country.

You can use  ECHOLINK to monitor skywarn reports remotely

Commonly reported events:

     flooding

     rainfall rates in excess of 3"/hour

     wall clouds, funnel clouds, tornadoes

     hail

     high winds

     weather related damage/injuries

     atmospheric readings related to storms
