[OFARC] FW: Transtar rooms not available

I’ve been working through on my computers at home how a video session with 3 proctors and verbal test might work. I think the risk of cheating for a tech test is pretty low under the circumstances but W5YI who is pushing for all online testing has had problems in the past so there will still need to be some work to make everything kosher. ARRL is working on protocol and there is plenty of test taking software so I think something will break soon.
This is 10 times more contagious and 5 times as lethal as the flu. I think all the risk, safety and isolation factors are underestimated by at least a factor of 5. Unless there’s a vaccine, treatment or reliable instant covid test, I’m not getting anywhere near people I don’t know.

How would we want to handle testing once the isolation is over?

See this regarding the status of Transtar. I’m not sure why work on the EOC would affect the conference rooms but this is the report. I’ll see if I can get a few more details on this.
Except for missing breakfast and the radio room, I kind of like the online meetings anyway.

Mark,
We have been advised that Harris County is starting a new EOC upgrade so rooms 120 A/B will be unavailable for the duration of 2020.
So, unfortunately, Transtar cannot host the Oak Forest ARC meetings until the upgrade is complete.
