I think hams and the ARRL need to rethink FD.  They say it is not a contest on one hand, yet the scoring system is like one.  The SW station did some Q's, and Ralph's community got some positive vibrs about ham radio.  That is the value of the event, and the trainning to set something up in case of an emergency.

I know a club does Winter FD.  Maybe ARRL should ask to take it over.  Manure could happen in cold weather...
