[OFARC] Remote Field Day

I should have the qsl cards in my possession next week. I can bring merit badge cards to sign if we have scouts attending for badge requirements.

·        set up starts at 10am Saturday for radios and displays.

·        Antenna hang may start 1900 Friday night or 0900 Saturday

·        three radios and any laptops will run on generator....the generator will be by the trash area behind the building

·        Will be operating 3A plus a GOTA station


·        Food and drinks will be inside the building.

·        Educational tables and displays will be inside the building.

I have or others are bringing:

·        3 HF radios

·        1 vhf/uhf radio

·        G5RV

·        HF Wire antennas

·        (2) 100ft RG8X

·        (2) 25ft RG8X

·        50 ft RG8x

·        2m/440 J-pole with 15 ft coax

WE NEED...

·        Water

·        Sodas

·        snacks
for the 14 people I expect to participate (6-12 for radio operators, plus 1 for CERT, plus 1 in case city rep shows up)
County Constable’s office has indicated some interest in attending.

visitors will be on their own.
I have had several inquiries from scouts, so expect a fair number of scouts (some looking to fill merit badge requirements)

Also NEED

·        Club QSO cards

·        Club applications

not yet certain what we will do for lunch or supper … bring our own, order pizza, grill burgers, food truck(??)

Displays will include:

·        History of Morse Code (educational bonus to teach how to send Morse code)

·        Amateur Radio role in recent storms

·        CERT

·        Amateur Radio and Scouting

·        Hurricane info
