[OFARC] ft8 question

RU is Roundup.  RTTY Roundup now includes FT8

last week i noticed some stations using "RU" on the CQ line

for example

  CQ RU KB1EFS FN42  U.S.A.

when I answered, he sent

  KE5HDF K8EET 549 MI


What is the "RU" about??

I have not found it as an abbreviation, contest exchange, or in the FT8 
manual.
