[OFARC] October Meeting Transtar

All,  We had adjusted the meeting date for Jamboree on the Air but we have been asked to share the session with the Houston digital support group which usually meets in the evening.  Since the JOTA session tends to be lightly attended, this fills out the activity for the 20th.   This will give everyone a chance to see some other things going on.  If we have some scouts, I’m working on getting the access to the radio room.   

 

This is a one-off event.

Over 25 of you replied with your area of interest for Digital Support meetings for the next year or so! This is your group aimed at providing support and now we have a good idea of which areas are of most interest!

Based on the replies, the coming meetings will include:

October meeting will be a combined meeting/workshop on Sat morning, Oct 20th at Transtar

·         9am VE testing by Oak Forest Club, plus club meeting

·         10am-10:45 Demonstration of Winlink advanced operating skills (Forms, compression, peer-peer, PO box)

·         10am 11:15 Measurements of frequency, power and deviation where possible for radios, packet equipment, hotspots. Bring your radio and power supply if needed (no antenna needed as you will direct connect to a service monitor)

November: date to be announced

·         Hands-on help for configuring DStar radios, both Icom and Kenwood

·         Hands-on help for configuring DMR radios
