[OFARC] 17 Repeater Status

All:  The 17 repeater is has come through surgery with a transplanted
antenna and an electron infusion.  Some filter cans and a circulator were
removed from the feedline which reduces loss.  The power output was also
increased by about 20 watts which gives the unit more range on the fringes.


 

The surgical team included 5 people which was just about right.  Things went
smoothly however the wind was blowing at 40 MPH which made it interesting to
handle the long antennas.  Got done in record time in under 3 hours which
included some other repairs and testing.    Should be good for a while.
