[OFARC] 17 Repeater Maintenance

All:  By now you probably realized the 17 repeater has caught a cold.  Its
ears are clogged with a scratchy throat so it might not be hearing or
talking so well until it gets some medicine.   Dr. Wayne has seen this
condition before and  a shot of 1,1-dichloro 1-fluoroethane, (the electronic
equivalent of nasal spray) injected into the squelch control is prescribed
for this condition.  With some bed rest and plenty of fluid, the patient
will usually recover but it might be until this weekend when the doctor can
do a house call and confirm the diagnosis.   The bodily functions are still
working but the squelch tail, courtesy beep, ID, receive and transmit
functions may be degraded until the medicine takes effect.  If the recovery
is longer than expected, the alternate 06 channel may need to be used for
the net.  Getting old is hell.
