Just passing on this request for hams on June 3rd.
Wes, KF5UKF
A reminder that the Hurricane Workshop will be on June 3,
all day, at the George R. Brown Convention center. So far I have 10
volunteers. I don’t have the official assignment list yet. It is
possible that we will need as many as 22 total volunteers and a couple of
spares.
As far as I know now there will be no free parking. I
will let you know if that changes. There will be a continental breakfast
and a box lunch provided. Both are very good. As always I try very
hard to give every volunteer some time off during the day to visit the exhibits
yourself. Some assignments are walking and some are
stationary. We change assignment every hour so that you will not be bored
and stuck in one place for a long time.
Please pass this request along to your amateur radio friends
and ask them if they would like to join this public service event. You do
not have to be an ARES member to volunteer. You will need a dual band HT,
earphones, small notepad, and enough energy to operate your HT all day.
You can expect to operate on very low power since we are all in close proximity
to each other. We will be using a UHF simplex frequency.
Emergency Coordinators, CLARC, PECG, and GCECG groups:
Please pass this request for volunteers to your respective
groups and ask them to respond directly to me (gfletcher5 at att.net).
Below are the volunteers that I have:
Robert Riedel, Earl Pack, Bob Scully, Beth Scully, Glenn
Bellot, Walt Sepanic, John Igoe(?), Jim Durham, John Paterson, Mike Dome.
Please let me know if you will be able to join us at the
Hurricane Workshop. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.
