All: Winlink is an email over radio program used in the Ham community for
emergency communication typically on VHF. The software is free. It takes
some work to configure the hardware and software so there will be a
training session this Saturday, March 11th at 9:00 AM at Houston Transtar at 6922
Old Katy Rd Houston TX.

Typically Winlink is set up with a dedicated radio and interfaces through
the mic or TNC connection. An interface between the TNC and the computer is
needed. If you have run packet or APRS it is a similar setup. The
software can run in stand alone mode so you can see how it works. The training
will involve setup and operation for functional use of Winlink.

Bring as much as you can:
Laptop
TNC
Radio
Cables

Because of security at Transtar, if you plan to participate please send an
email to
mike at ka5cvh.com so that security knows who you are.
