Based on the maps posted by National Hurricane center, SW Houston & Sugar Land is in the zone with 80% chance of tropical storm force winds (50-60 mph) and rain accumulation of 15-20 inches between Saturday and Monday.

Storm is likely to stall out a little inland of Victoria and bring us lots of rain for several days.

Pick up loose items in the yard.

Thanks Pat.

Transtar is a good one I had forgotten about.

Ch 11 web page also has school closings and links to advisories and preparation.

Here are a couple of websites that will have the best available information during

this storm event.:

HGAC - Together Against the Weather - Hurricane Preparedness Information to Help People With Access and Functional Support Needs <http://www.togetheragainsttheweather.com/> It has relevant and specific information that

can be tailored to your location.

www.houstontranstar.org, <http://www.houstontranstar.org%2C/> This site details current traffic conditions,

current rainfall maps, news alerts, school alerts, flood warnings, and

power outages. Their weather radar map has overlays along the

bottom that allow you to superimpose roads, rivers and cities. These

can be very useful in determining site specific situational awareness.

Our local Emergency Management Office is at 110 W. Main St., Humble

TX., 77338. Our Emergency Management Coordinator is James Nykaza,

281-446-4928, jnykaza at cityofhumble.net <mailto:jnykaza at cityofhumble.net> .

There are also evacuation maps if you find yourself in that situation

Good Luck
