Jamboree on the Air Newsletter — 2016 Patch Design and Planning CalendarLet me know if you want to do JOTA again this year.
If so, we can talk about whether to do it at only the lodge or at both locations again.
There is merit in both options.

JOTA Event Tips
Don, W3LNE, has also written up his tips for operating a superb Jamboree on the Air event based on years of experience. You can find them all at JOTA Event Tips: Plannning a JOTA event, you can do it!.
JOTA Contest Free Frequencies
We received a great deal of feedback this year on the intereference caused by the growing level of contest activity during JOTA weekend. The Worked All Germany contest has established contest free frequencies and we've contacted USA based QSO parties to ask them to give this consideration. You can find out more at Contest Free Frequencies. If you're a member of these clubs, please reach out to them suggesting they follow best practices and establish contest free frequencies.
National Parks on the Air
In case you missed it, ARRL is running a National Parks on the Air Program throughout 2016. You can find all the details at NPOTA 2016. This is a superb way to activate amateur radio in your Scouting activities. Note, too, that one of the options for the "Five Star Activator" Award is to activate a National Park System unit with a youth group or Scouting program. Get on the air at a National Park.
BSA International Newsletter
The BSA January International Newsletter highlighted the JOTA-JOTI 2015 report. You can see it at International Communication. The newsletter also identifies the councils that do not currently have International Representatives. If you see your council on the list, perhaps it's time to step up to an important council level role.
