[OFARC] The Amateur Radio Parity Act of 2015

We need to all be aware of, and support, the latest efforts to end the over reach of HOAs.  There is proposed federal legislation to force HOAs to allow amateur radio antennas.

In years gone by, the FCC became aware that HOAs were not allwoing satellite dishes or even the old TV mast antennas.  They updated regualtions to force HOAs to allwo them within reason.  Later, congress acted to create PRB-1 that requires states, counties and cities to allow amateur radio antennas.  The FCC refused to extend that rule to HOAs claiming they are private contracts.  Now Congress has take up the challenge.  This bill will require HOAs to make reasonable accomodations for amateur radio.

There are several co-sponsors of the bills, but others need our push before they will sign on.

HOAs are fighting it hard and spreading mis-information.  To counter their efforts, ARRL created a short document to clarify what the bill does and does not include.   I have attached the full text of the bill and the clarifications.
