Due to limitations of antenna  locations, the HQ event station will be 
outdoors across the parking lot from  the HQ building.
 
I will provide these  items
    *   2 EZup canopies and some tarps  for shade  
    *   generator  
    *   extension cords   
    *   one power  suppply  
    *   80M/17M dipole  
    *   40M/20M dipole  
    *   2M j-pole  

I need all operators to confirm they  will be able to help
 
Need one more operator for  the HQ location ... I can set up by myself if 
needed and someone  can come help operate after the club meeting
 


DATE  October 17 
 
ready for visitors and on the air from 0900 to 1500  local time
We will set up at the lodge and at the Scout HQ  on TC Jester
The planned activities are shown below.   
 
Need 3-4 members at each location to staff everything;  may need two shifts 
of people.

We need people to step up and provide the Items  underlined  
    *   Radio  Operators/Mentors for HQ location  Ralph +  (Mike???)  
    *   Radio  Operators/Mentors for the lodge location Terry, Jim &  Rusty 
 
    *   2M/70cm voice activity   
    *   the lodge has a permanently mounted 2m  antenna.   Rusty and Dick 
will bring  radios  
    *   HQ I have a portable 2M j-pole and radio  (will run on battery + 
solar) 
    *   20M voice  activity.    
    *   lodge Terry will bring  antennas  
    *   HQ - Ralph has dipoles 
    *   PSK31 station  
    *   lodge - Terry has a set up  
    *   HQ - ralph will provide (may be receive  only) 
    *   World/US maps to show locations we  contact  Ralph will provide one 
set.   Who can provide another set of  maps?   
    *   have 2 or 3 morse practice keys/sounders and  explain the code  
Ralph will drop 3 at  the lodge before the event starts   need 9V batteries for 
the  lodge  
    *   open an old tube type recvr and modern rig to  show the differences 
Ralph has a vacuum tube rig for  HQ. Jim is providing one for the lodge  
location  
    *   describe how amateur radio and scouting have  similar goals & can 
complement each  other   Ralph will provide PPT slides  printout  
    *   explain what amateur radio is and how it  works WITH current social 
media or when social media  fails   Ralph will provide some ideas  
    *   describe the stuff we  do   Ralph will provide some ideas  
    *   hang poster showing careers that use skills  you can learn in 
amateur radio Ralph will provide posters  
    *   display/describe the 3 merit badge books  related to amateur radio 
(radio,  electronics, electricity)  Ralph provided PDF files of  the 
worksheets for each   Who can print  them out?  
    *   explain how amateur radio helped for Katrina,  Haiti earthquake, 
current wild fires, etc.  
    *   have some fun with the boys and  leaders
