All:  You may be aware that Houston Amateur Radio Supply (Formerly George's) has been sold and is under new ownership.  Dave McCombs KF5FNG is the new proprietor.  The smokey dungeon is gone and store has been remodeled.  Dave has a number of rigs in the show room now.   Charlie, Louis and Russell are still around.  I understand from speaking with Dave he is planning to add a technician and expand the items in the show room.  
 
The store customarily has had open house in January and this year, the show will be on January 21, 2012.   I assume there will be the usual tailgate and some manufacturer's reps there in addition to the "regulars".
 
I am informed from Alan KB2WF also there will also be the D-Star event as listed below.

 There will be a special DStar event on Sat Jan 21st at Houston Amateur Radio Supply, HARS in Spring






During the morning, the following will be provided:
- programming of DStar radios
- talks about DStar operation
- handouts on DStar "how to ...." topics



I understand that HARS will also be rolling out the latest DStar radio, an ID-31, which is a compact 440MHz handheld


The full program of events is being planned at the moment, so watch for more details in about 2 weeks time.
