This weekend we will be participating in the ARRL VHF Contest from Rocky Point in grid DN21. Rocky Point, at 8200' MSL, is located about 20 mi. east of Wells, NV in Elko County, on Interstate 80 and 2.5 mi. north of the freeway.

We will be listening and calling on or near 50.125, 144.200 and 432.100. Also plan on listening on 146.52 FM for calls. An after first contact QSY from the calling frequency may be necessary.

We will be operating in the low power category since we're on solar, with 22 elements on 432mhz, 11 elements on 144mhz and 4 elements on 50mhz. We also use a vertical on 2 meter FM. Without cooperation from the sun, sporatic E is not expected but the weather patterns could bring us some success with tropo ducting.

Start time is 11 AM PDST on Saturday and we will run until noon on Sunday. Best times for a contact is usually between 11 AM and sunset.

Dave, W7GK & Kathy, W7BDY
