[NvHam] Condition update for Matt Parker, N7TOD

To all of you who are Matt's friends,

     Matt had a rough day today. Early this morning he was notified that he 
would be going to surgery this afternoon. He requested early on that any 
calls be blocked so to those of you who may have called and were told he 
was accepting no calls it was because he was facing the surgery and was not 
up to any conversations today. He hopes you will not think he does not want 
to talk to you. That is not the case at all. He has up days and down days 
and today was a down day so please don't hesitate to to call and if your 
call is blocked it is because he is having a down day.

     The surgery today was a check up to determine what course of action 
will be required to facilitate his recovery. He is very sensitive to his 
infirmity and the length of time that may be required for his recovery. We 
are concentrating on trying to keep his focus on recovery not on his 
current condition. We feel he needs all of the support we can provide 
toward the day he can walk out of the hospital and go home.

     I am sure he would be interested in Ham "news" if any of you have 
something that would take his mind off of his condition. When he makes a 
run on the Railroad he always takes his handheld with him.

     To any of you interested I will try to post bulletins about his 
progress as time permits and to those of you who do call or write His Wife, 
Stephanie, KD7VON, His Mom, Bernice, His Sister, Gail McClure, and I, His 
Dad, Thank you very much.
