If you are looking for a way to learn more about the ARRL and its place
within amateur radio, here is a unique opportunity.
On Saturday, August 28th, the ARRL Nevada Section and Carson Valley Radio
Club will sponsor the third annual ARRL Leadership Forum in Carson
City. The Forum will feature ARRL Pacific Division Director Bob Vallio
W6RGG, myself in the role of ARRL Nevada Section Manager, and other section
leadership appointees from around the state.
Bob Vallio will report on the recent ARRL Board of Director's meeting as
well as provide a report on the current status of the Broadband over
Powerlines (BPL) issues. Additionally, I and several other senior section
leadership appointees will report on the "State Of The Section."
This will be your chance to meet the people responsible for providing ARRL
leadership within the Nevada Section. If you have any questions or problems
with the ARRL, these are the people to talk to. Please take advantage of
this unique opportunity.
The Forum will be held at the Carson City Plaza Hotel, 801 South Carson
Street (Hwy 395), Carson City, just a half-mile south of the State Capitol
building. It will start at 10:00 a.m. and last approximately two hours. A
map can be found on-line at http://www.cvrc.net/images/PlazaMap.gif
Refreshments and door prizes will be provided.
Following the Forum and after a short lunch break, there will be a section
cabinet meeting. While participation in this meeting will be limited to
section cabinet officers, the meeting will be open to the public if you
would like to observe. Either or both of these meetings will give you a
excellent chance to see exactly what the ARRL is doing in Nevada.
For more information, contact myself at [email protected] or (775) 267-4900.
