Greetings to all. The Sierra Nevada Amateur Radio Society (SNARS)
is coordinating support communications for the Tahoe-Sierra Century
Ride, a long-distance bicycle ride, on Saturday, September 27. This
is the first run of this event, a fund raiser for the North Lake
Tahoe Middle and High Schools Music Programs. The event consists of
30, 60, and 100 mile courses starting at Squaw Valley USA and
traveling about the North Lake Tahoe/Truckee/Donner Summit areas.
At this time we are still seeking three operators to ride with
course support vehicles during the event providing communications
for the safety and efficiency of the event. These assignments will
run from approximately 6:30 AM until approximately 4:00 PM.
T-shirts and food will be provided for all volunteers. There is a
dinner following the event to which all volunteers are invited.
Cost to attend the dinner is $6; however, food provide at the rest
stops along the course during the event is free. Join us in making
the first run to the Tahoe-Sierra Century Ride a success! For more
information about the event, go to www.tahoesierracentury.com. To
volunteer, contact Matt - N7TOD or Doug - KA7FOO. 73 de N7TOD.
